Few encounters in the wild are as terrifying and oddly charming as running into a bear. Unlike great white sharks—who are all teeth and no cuddles—or rattlesnakes, which are just plain scary, bears somehow manage to straddle the line between dangerous and downright adorable.
We probably shouldn’t admit this (it’s that open secret everyone tries to hide, so you don’t sound like the clueless tourist asking park rangers, “When are they going to let the bears out so I can see them?”), but bears are seriously cute.
Disclaimer: Never, ever approach a bear in real life—no hugs, no selfies. But watching this bear’s unexpected climb up a ladder to meet a woman stuck in a tree stand? That’s something you just have to see to believe.
