Attorney General Pam Bondi has authorized a grand jury to review accusations that individuals during the Obama era may have orchestrated efforts to falsely connect Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign to Russia. This action comes after Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard and CIA Director John Ratcliffe formally submitted evidence — now public — suggesting some intelligence officials pushed a misleading narrative.
According to Fox News’ David Spunt, Bondi “signed an order directing an unnamed U.S. federal prosecutor to take evidence to a grand jury.” While no charges have been brought forward yet, Bondi is reportedly treating the referrals with utmost seriousness and says there are significant reasons for concern.
Among those potentially under investigation are former intelligence directors like John Brennan and James Clapper, and even former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Media figures have already weighed in — former Fox host Megyn Kelly remarked, “This woman should be in jail… Hillary Clinton should be behind bars,” accusing Clinton of concocting the Russia tie to deflect attention from her email controversy.
