Legendary French Actor Alain Delon Dies at 88 After Battling Illness

After years of health struggles, iconic French actor Alain Delon has passed away at the age of 88, his children confirmed in a statement to AFP on Sunday.

Delon had faced serious health challenges in recent years. He suffered a stroke in 2019 and was later diagnosed with cancer, which ultimately led to his passing.

“With profound sadness, Alain-Fabien, Anouchka, and Anthony — along with his beloved dog Lubo — announce the peaceful passing of their father,” the statement said. “He died at home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and family.”

The news marks the end of a long and difficult health battle for the celebrated actor, who leaves behind a towering legacy in French and international cinema.
