Former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi delivered pointed remarks following the federal indictment of ex-FBI Director James Comey, stating that the era of politically motivated prosecutions in the U.S. legal system has come to a close.
Appearing on Fox News’ Hannity Friday evening, Bondi declared that the current administration intends to uphold the law impartially, ensuring all citizens are treated equally — regardless of their political status or connections.
According to the Justice Department, Comey faces two felony charges: one for allegedly lying to Congress and another for impeding a congressional investigation. These charges relate to statements he made in 2020 concerning the FBI’s use of confidential informants.

“No one should be anxious anymore — President Trump is in office, and the political weaponization is over. We’ve made that abundantly clear,” Bondi told host Sean Hannity.

She emphasized that the Department of Justice, working with federal intelligence agencies, has implemented a new framework focused on fairness and transparency — applying the law equally to all, from politicians to private citizens.
“Whether you’re a former FBI chief, an ex-intel official, a current public servant, or a billionaire using your wealth to influence elections — nothing is off-limits,” she said. “We will investigate wrongdoers and dismantle the system of biased prosecution.”
Bondi highlighted several officials now working in concert to rebuild public trust in federal institutions. She mentioned FBI Director Kash Patel, Special Counsel Todd Blanche, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and CIA Director John Ratcliffe — all reportedly contributing to a wide-ranging effort to pursue long-ignored investigations.
“These individuals are working tirelessly, day and night,” Bondi added. “Accountability is coming. The days of selective justice are over.”
The Background: Comey Indictment
Comey’s indictment follows years of conflict between him and Donald Trump, beginning with his dismissal in 2017 — an event that triggered a wave of political and legal turmoil. Comey played a leading role in the “Russia collusion” probe, which Trump allies have consistently described as a baseless and partisan attack.
Federal prosecutors now allege that Comey misrepresented facts in his congressional testimony, specifically regarding whether he had authorized anyone in the FBI to serve as a confidential media source.
