Little Girl Calls Police Saying Her Dad Is Buried Under the Floor — What Officers Discovered Left Them Horrified

A disturbing and unexpected call came into the local police station late one evening.

“Hello…” came the fragile voice of a girl no older than eight. “Please help… my dad is under the floor.”

The duty officer exchanged a puzzled glance with his partner.

“Under the floor? Sweetheart, can you give the phone to your mom or dad?”

“He hasn’t been home for days,” the girl replied, her voice trembling. “Mom thinks I’m making it up, but I know he’s under the floor. He told me himself.”

“Wait…” the officer’s tone grew serious. “How did he tell you if he’s not around?”

“I saw him in a dream,” she whispered. “He said he went far away… and he’s lying beneath the floor…”

At first, the police thought it might be a child’s imagination or distress and considered contacting child protective services. But something about her earnest voice compelled them to take the call seriously.

“We’ll come check it out, just in case,” said one officer. “What if it’s real…”

When they arrived at the home, they were met by the girl’s mother, a neat woman in her early forties who seemed surprised by their visit but allowed them inside. The girl stood silently nearby, clutching her teddy bear tightly, and pointed to a spot along the living room wall beneath the recently installed laminate floor.

“Where is your husband?” the officers asked.

“On a business trip,” the woman replied quickly. “To another city… maybe Serbia or Slovenia. I’m not sure. He travels a lot.”

“Can you reach him on the phone?”

“His phone is off,” she stammered.

While one officer attempted to contact the husband without success, another spoke to neighbors who hadn’t seen the man in over a week. He hadn’t been at work, nor had he contacted anyone. No flights were booked under his name.

When the officers mentioned they needed to remove some floorboards where the girl had pointed, the mother grew agitated.

“We just renovated! Do you know how expensive that was? Who’s going to pay if you damage it?”

“If we find nothing, insurance will cover the repairs,” the lead officer said bluntly.

Minutes after prying up the floorboards, a chilling scream pierced the air. One officer dropped his tools, startled. Then came a hush—broken only by the voice declaring:

“We found a body.”

Beneath the floorboards, wrapped in construction plastic and partially sealed with foam and concrete, lay the man’s lifeless body. There were no signs of a struggle; the cause of death was a single, forceful blow to the temple.

Further investigation revealed the grim truth: during a heated argument, the woman struck her husband with a heavy object. Believing him dead, she concealed his body beneath the floor during ongoing renovations, which workers assumed was just part of the remodeling.

And the little girl? She had truly seen her father in a dream. He appeared to her, smiled sadly, and said:

“Tell them. I’m under the floor. I’m close. Don’t be afraid.”

And she did.
