Some close allies of Vice President Kamala Harris have attributed her historic defeat by President-elect Donald Trump to President Biden’s delayed decision to exit the race. However, former campaign insiders dismiss that explanation, calling it “completely out of touch.”
Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown, who previously had a relationship with Harris, said her campaign team “misread the signs,” repeating the same missteps made during Hillary Clinton’s loss and casting doubt on whether the nation is truly prepared to elect a woman to the presidency.
