A senior official at the Department of Justice has ignited a political firestorm with a controversial claim: that First Lady Jill Biden should face criminal charges for “elder abuse” in connection to President Joe Biden’s recently revealed cancer diagnosis.

Leo Terrell, a 70-year-old former civil rights attorney turned Fox News commentator, now serving as senior counselor to the Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, made headlines this week after publicly accusing Jill Biden of wrongdoing. His comments followed revelations that President Biden has been diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer—information critics argue may have been concealed from the public for too long.
In response to a viral post on X (formerly Twitter) suggesting Jill Biden was aware of her husband’s health issues but still supported his re-election bid, Terrell replied bluntly:
“Elder abuse! Criminal charges??”

The post quickly gained traction, triggering waves of debate across social media. Terrell continued to double down, reposting additional messages that accused the First Lady of enabling “domestic violence” through neglect and deception.
One particularly incendiary repost read:
“Elder abuse is a form of domestic violence and Dr. Biden has a lot of explaining to do about her part in defrauding the American people and taxpayers.”
It concluded with a jab at her motives:
“They wanted the attention & status at any cost.”
Another post he shared went even further, implying that any further medical treatment—including radiation or chemotherapy—would only prove the alleged abuse. The post drew backlash for its extreme rhetoric, including a shocking suggestion that “they should be shot.”
The Growing Backlash
The remarks sparked swift and widespread condemnation. Critics pointed out that Jill Biden holds a doctorate in education—not medicine—and therefore has no professional capacity to diagnose or treat medical conditions such as prostate cancer.
Donald Trump Jr. weighed in on X, asking:
“What I want to know is how did Dr. Jill Biden miss stage five metastatic cancer or is this yet another coverup???”

His post was met with ridicule.
One user fired back:
“Jill Biden has a Doctor of Education from the University of Delaware. She’s not a medical doctor, you f*ing imbecile.”**
Another added:
“Why would someone with a doctorate in education know about prostate cancer before medical professionals?”
And a third wrote:
“How cruel and hateful some of the Trumper Republicans have become. They have no shame.”
White House Silence and the President’s Response
President Biden has undergone regular physicals throughout his presidency, with public reports from 2021 to 2025 showing no mention of PSA (prostate-specific antigen) screenings—the most common early detection method for prostate cancer. The absence of this routine check has further fueled questions and criticism from both sides.
Amid the uproar, President Biden posted a message on X, sharing a photo of himself and Jill alongside their cat, Willow:
“Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
The DOJ has not issued a formal response to Terrell’s remarks, and no legal action is currently being pursued against the First Lady. However, the political and emotional fallout from the accusations continues to dominate headlines.
