In a heartfelt disclosure, actor and R&B singer Tyrese Gibson recently shared the emotional and financial struggles he endured following his divorce from ex-wife Samantha Lee. According to Tyrese, it was rapper and media mogul 50 Cent who stepped in with unexpected support during one of the darkest chapters of his life — offering him a role in the hit TV series Power, which helped him regain momentum in his career.
Reflecting on the toll of the divorce, Tyrese remarked, “It felt like the marriage was treated more like a business deal. After a few years, she walked away with nearly half of everything I worked for. Meanwhile, her assets were protected under someone else’s name.”
He went on to discuss the emotional toll, emphasizing how men are often discouraged from showing vulnerability. “People don’t really care about how men feel. But I told myself I wouldn’t fake strength. I needed to cry. We need to normalize men being open about their pain. We get hurt too.”
