After years of health struggles, iconic French actor Alain Delon has passed away at the age of 88, his children confirmed in a statement to AFP on Sunday.

Delon had faced serious health challenges in recent years. He suffered a stroke in 2019 and was later diagnosed with cancer, which ultimately led to his passing.
“With profound sadness, Alain-Fabien, Anouchka, and Anthony — along with his beloved dog Lubo — announce the peaceful passing of their father,” the statement said. “He died at home in Douchy, surrounded by his three children and family.”

The news marks the end of a long and difficult health battle for the celebrated actor, who leaves behind a towering legacy in French and international cinema.
